SECTION B.1 CHARLESTON NAVAL
SHIPYARD MAPS
All maps listed herein, except for 1993 are "Yard"
maps and show railroads, roads, buildings and other features. The 1993 map
is specifically a railroad map and includes curve, frog and other railroad
data.
The 30" wide maps may have some data missing, except
for railroads, as the originals were wider than the paper available for printing
at the time (about 1995).
The 1909 through 1924 maps show the streetcarline
that ran from Charleston to Charleston Navy Shipyard, then North
Charleston. The street car line was removed
(1938-1939?).
Copies of maps and their prices may be obtained from Peter Stabovitz at
pstabovitz@bellsouth.net or 1940 Teakwood Road. Charleston, SC 29414.
